AD&D Plans generally pay a specific amount to the Insured of the beneficiary in the event of a fatal accident or an accident that results in losing: eyesight, speech, hearing, or a limb. The death or injuries generally must be the the result of an accident and in the case of death within three months of the accident.

In the case of dismemberment, coverage pays on a "per- member" basis. If you lose one member you receive 50% of the full benefit. If you lose two members or more, you receive the full benefit. Generally the spouse and dependents can be included for an additional premium. If the death is from an illness, the AD&D Plan will not pay.
