(1) Fee-Based Planning
Fact Finding when Brokers work with Employers or Individuals is extremelt imortant but often overlooked! In today’s turbulent political and economic climate” with “With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare)”, Employers are confused while looking for Strategies and Solutions for dealing with the changes!

It is imperative for the Broker to fully understand the Employers benefits history, company culture, financil capacities, Employees needs, and all contributing factors to the decision-making process.  

To successfully deal with these problems, brokers must work with their clients to develop a long-range strategic plan that provides "Flexible Benefits" that engage the employees as a "Partner" in the planning process.

(2) Defined Contribution (DC)
Defined Contribution (DC) Employee Benefit Design is not a new concept - It has been successfully implemented for years! PPACA/Obamacare and the newly developed Private Exchanges have brought DC to the forefront of Strategic Benefit Planning and Benefit Plan Design!
In its simplest form, DC can be considered a "cafeteria Plan" on steroids. The Organizations CFO - or the equivalent - working with a Broker/Consultant budget their annual contribution (benefit Dollars) to the Employee's benefits by classification without discrimination.

The HR Department - or the equivalent - working with the Broker/Consultant determines a menu of benefits from which the Employees and their families can select. The benefit choices generally include: Health Plans, traditional Core Benefits, Voluntary/Worksite Plans, Ancillary Benefits, and Tax-Advantaged Reimbursement Accounts.
The result is the capacity for the Employer to budget benefit costs while the Employees are provided the capacity to build their own personalized benefit plan to meet their needs within their financial capacities.
